Location. Situated on 10 oceanfront acres in the Marina Vallarta area, Velas Vallarta is just north of Puerto Vallarta's Old City. Recreational activities abound, with snorkeling, parasailing, scuba diving, sailing, and horseback riding are available through local vendors. Hiking, swimming and sunbathing are also great ways to spend a day in this Mexican paradise.
Hotel Features. Beautifully landscaped grounds and interesting architecture set this resort apart. The main building forms a stepped U shape and wraps around a beautiful tropical courtyard with multiple freeform pools and sundecks. The lobby is magnificent, with unique arches, marble floors and a full bar, the Alhambra Lobby Bar. Andrea Restaurant overlooks the gardens and features Italian cuisine. La Ribera is beachfront and serves specialty Mexican and seafood. Both restaurants offer indoor and al fresco dining. The Aqua Bar is a poolside bar with swim up service. There is a full service health spa, fitness equipment, a sauna and a jetted tub. The helpful staff can assist with tour assistance, concierge services, currency exchange, dry cleaning services and wedding services. Supervised children's activities allow parents to take a breather and enjoy the resort while the kids are occupied.
Guestrooms. Velas Vallarta offers a variety of accommodations ranging from studios to two bedroom units. Most units have at least a partial ocean view and feature comfortable furnishings mingled with tile floors and plenty of natural wood tones. Kitchens make it easy to be self sufficient and include microwave ovens and coffeemakers.
Expert Tip. Water taxis are available at the marinas and offer wonderful day trips to locations not accessible by land. The trip to Yelapa is one of the most interesting, with a 45 meter waterfall, several beachside restaurants and friendly locals. Resort fees are determined by the hotel and are subject to change. |
